The Wolverines defeated Marina High 1-0, Thanks to Flaherty, who pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts and a walk. Flaherty, who finished his senior season with a 13-0 record, would be selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the Major League Baseball draft.
